The 2017 federal budget is proof the Liberals are borrowing way too much money, a burden that will fall onto future generations. What’s borrowed has to be paid back. And that means more and higher taxes.
We’ve already watched the Liberals deliver new taxes on workers and higher taxes on small business. Their tax scheme for the “middle class” was to get rid of income splitting for families and cut tax credits for children’s sports and arts activities. It’s clear lower and middle-income Canadians benefited the most from the previous Conservative government’s tax plan, confirmed in a report from the Parliamentary Budget Office.
Conservatives lowered taxes a total of 180 times, bringing the tax burden to its lowest level in 50 years. By the end of our mandate, the average family of four was saving almost $7,000 per year.
We’ll continue to fight to help you keep more of your hard-earned money.
